About the Club

Vision Statement

To foster a boating-friendly environment in Cedar Rapids.

Mission Statement

The Cedar Boat Club is a community-development nonprofit organization whose mission lies in promoting and protecting recreational boating access, advocating for water safety and waterway conservation, and giving back to the community via the July 3rd Ellis Fireworks and other family-friendly events showcasing the natural resources we are striving to protect.

Strategic Priorities

  1. Building an inclusive community of boating enthusiasts who work together to support one another, the recreational boating environment on the Cedar River, and the mission of the Club.

  2. Advocating for boaters’ safety through equitable access to education, inspection, and required safety equipment, as well as partnership with local enforcement agencies.

  3. Promoting individual responsibility for maintaining clean, safe, and accessible waterways, as well as advocating for assistance in those endeavors from municipal and government agencies.

  4. Giving back to the Cedar Rapids communities surrounding Ellis Harbor, Ellis area parks, and the Middle Cedar River Watershed by orchestrating successful family-friendly public events.

Beyond those criteria, the Club does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, sex, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender, disability, marital status, genetic information, veteran status, or other factors protected by law.
